Channel 4's recent documentary seems to be striking a chord with people who would not to have to cut greenhouse gas emissions, or who perhaps just don't trust consensus opinions. Anyone interested might like to consult the following responses from climate scientists:
Sir John Houghton (http://www.jri.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=137&Itemid=83),

As I remarked to a colleague, I don't know enough science to evaluate the arguments in detail. Like most people, I have to rely on the scientific process and consensus. There are always people who will argue against a consensus; that's how science (and scientists) work. Sometimes they may even be right. But when it comes to policy decisions, I don't see what alternative we have apart from accepting the current best estimates, even though we know they (like any other scientific theory) may eventually turn out to be inaccurate.
